IP = intellectual property, not some DHCP lease or ISP change

The first time I read the title, my mind went to the networking version of IP and I was wondering 'what kind of crazy security hole has happened now that would allow an arbitrary website to cause your isp (for external) or router (internal) to reset your ip address.
Intellectual property makes the title make much more sense

I had a dsl modem that would restart if it saw a fragmented ipv6 packet. Since my ISP used PPPoE, I would get a new session when it finished restarting, and I'd get a new IP. I was able to get a newer modem, that didn't reset in that condition, but it added a large amount of delay when using ipv6, so it wasn't meaningfully better.
